pigeon-holed

when visiting europe for the first time,
i was in france,
in bretagne,
w/the gilots
exploring this lovely
fortified city
[named
fou...gere]
with
a lovely castle
when the femmes
in the fam
noticed a pigeon
that was stuck
in a barred hole within
the castle.
there were "awws"
all around
& we contemplated
how we could
get the little
guy out.

'see if there is another
way in?'
'get help from
a staff member?'
'try to pry
the guy
out?'

but, alas,
the pigeon
was stuck inside
a little prison
of bars and rock.

was this pigeon
pigeon-holed?
